I know, I know

We are moving around very fast Meeta. We are here for a couple of days than off again to Laos. I think I said it, but we have arrived in Chang Mai, bright and early 6am. We are here for the night. Then tomorrow morning we catch a bus into the rural areas. Do a little elephant trek. Spend the night with a hillside tribe. Then another day of fun stuff (not sure what exactly) slumber party with our tribe peeps, than float down a river on bamboo rafts, than back to the hotel. We will have a couple of days to relax. But there is that Gibbon experience we want to do, and, hell why not. Its only like a 5 hour dealio, so it wont be all day. Thennn, we catch a short bus ride to the Laos border where we will get our visas and head down the river on a 2 day float in to Luang Prabang. Hopefully once we arrive there we will slow the f down and relax and soak some of this in. Although we were fleeing the rains ( like we are made out of sugar) We are moving quick. But I hear great things about Laos and look forward to taking some time there. Ok, Im really glad this is not a scratch and sniff site, because I STINK!! Seriously, no shower for 2 days, and 24hours of bus rides! Ohh, a special shout out to all I drunk dialed from Bangkok yesterday, I forget about the time change sometimes :) But thanks Mymy and Brian for picking up-one love -m

Real quick...

Sorry Bri-o you will have to wait for your package :) And yeah the bus last night, not so glam..we head out seemed cool. (see Pictures: Me on my banana phone, Dan reading, My nasty ass foot, and the cute lil tassels from the first bus) A few hours down the road, I need to pee, door is locked. So I ask the driver for a key. 10 Minutes, he says. A Half hour goes by. They pull over and start taking off everyones stuff and throwing it on the side of the road in the rain. Everyone is asked to get off. So we do, and are very confused, we wait there for bout half an hour, and get on another bus, a little less nice than the leaky tiki we were on. So it is...I feel a draft coming from the emergency door next to me. Draft you ask, yes thats because it DOSENT close all the way. So there I am next an ajar door for the next 12 hours driving through the jungles of Thailand in floods and what not. We arrive in Bangkok at another totally random loction, the place we booked our next leg through-closed, all there is in the office is two chairs and a fax machine on the floor-hmmm? So we get a hold of them. They will pick us up in front of the Police station near the backpackers ghetto of BAngkok. Hopefully not as eventful as last nights trip. Dont worry MOMS we will be careful and keep all important stuff on our person..too be in the islands again..nice friendly, trusting people. So we headed out with full packs to check out the royal palace-very cool. Even though Im a little hesitant, we book the next 10 days through a travel agency-TAT-to get us on a trek through the jungle then down the river the iN LAos. WISH US LUCK!! Holy fucking adventure batman :)-m
No luck with camera, dan has his
Sarah & Jess-WTF? Are still coming?
We need dates from Kt-P And SSD Mr coe! LEt me know ASAP-we must plan :)xoxo

A boat and a couple of buses..

So we left paradise this morning, nothing like tromping through the hillside with your pack heading for the ferry to Krabi. We have a little weather challenges, so in hand a change of plans. We took a ferry to Krabi town, here for a bit-enough time to get some grub and snacks for our fantastic voyage (11 or so hours) via bus to Bangkok. Once we arrrive manana at 6am we have the day to check bangkok out until 7pm when we catch another overnight (10 hours again) bus up to Chang Mai. We unfortunatly will be mising our first full moon festival, but they celebrate el luna every month, so we will have time to check out the festivties again. The bus ride should be cool, at least it has seats the go bac kinto 'beds'. It will be a long journey, but we save over 200$ by taking the longer route. And seeing we have kinda been spending freely, time to start budgeting! Hope all is well, will check in again once in Chang Mai. Im ready to do some major shopping, apparently it's real cheap up there :) Millita, expect a package at the shop, as I will be sending it there! But NO peeking! Hahaha, yu have to wait till I return! Love and kisses-m

Hutastic!

So we have moved on to a new location, same island, just on the other side. We were staying in 'tourist village' now we have a bungalow nesteled in the trees. About 10 feet away is the beach, very secluded. Our 'shack' has electricity and a nice little outdoor shower! Let me tell you, nothing wrong with showering under a banyan tree. We checked out a Muy Thai boxing match, pretty hard core. I also found Jameson at that bar, to say the least, I was a little off yesterday. We spent the day lounging at the beach and swimming in the beautiful water. Got caught in a total tropical downpour, it was awesome and only lasted long enough for us to get soaked and to get back home.
After checking into our new place we took it easy (like we have been doing the whole time) got some snorkeling gear and checked out the cove near our home. You know how I was all excited about the new, cool, underwater camera? Yeah, well, I guess something was a little off, and no more camera. I'm letting it dry out, but I have a fealing that it wont be coming back. Very, Very, Very sad. I did bring my 35mm, but boo!! So The pictures will not be available for you to enjoy until I get back and develope all the film ( thanks mom!)
We are going to chill out here for another day, than off to Koh Lanta for a few. We will than jump on a boat to Krabi, check out the hot springs and do a little cave exploring. After that we have to figure out a way to get up to Chang Mai. We plan to take a 2 day boat trip down the Mehkong River into Laos. We meet a guy who told us about this Gibbon Monkey experience, which you go in the jungle check out the monkey and do all sort of zip line and adventure stuff! Also when we are in Laos, Dan's brother told us about this inner tube/pub crawl trip down a river. An 8 hour adventure of floating and beers, right up my alley!
We have officially been 'on vacation' for a week, and the relaxing fun times haven't stoppped!
And I guess, we will have no problem with find internet anywhere, so I will keep you updated as we go..just no photos..:) love to you all-m

Hello! We made it!! We had a few issues (which I WILL NOT get into just yet) but an extra 14 hours, and we made it! We are in beautiful-yet sleezy-Patong Beach in Phuket Thailand. We will be here for another day or so and head around the island to catch a boat to the PI PI Islands and go start our missions of being beach bums/travelers for the next 3 months. Everyone here is super friendly (especailly all the working girls on the main strip :)) The weather is here...wish you were beautiful! Till, next time :)-m pictures to follow...
